Osada Lakmal Paranaliyanage is an experienced Software Engineering Manager with over 17 years of leadership in building scalable, cloud-native solutions across finance, telecom, and media. Currently, he heads a backend engineering team at the BBC in Glasgow, utilizing API-driven microservices on AWS that powers the backend of BBC Sounds. The tech stack is typescript based, and they prefer fully cloud native and Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) solutions. He focuses on building a high performing, psychologically safe team that delivers business value early and often. Osada is a dual citizen of the UK & Sri Lanka. He is energized by helping shape Sri Lanka’s tech landscape. He is a proud father of two. In his spare time, he travels, reads, cooks, and plays table tennis.
