Shawn Wang, also known as swyx, is a writer, founder, and devtools startup advisor. He is focused on fostering the Rise of the AI Engineer and is currently working on Latent Space, AI Engineer, and Cognition. Based in San Francisco, he helps devtools startups cross the chasm through devrel, advising, and investing. He is a champion for Learning in Public and is Editor of Latent.Space and founder of Smol.ai. He has led developer relations at AWS and three devtools unicorn startups (Netlify, Temporal, Airbyte).

Vaughn Tan is a speaker, consultant, author, toolmaker, and strategy professor at UCL. He researches the difference between risk and uncertainty and explores the wider range of types of not-knowing. His speaking, consulting, and writing help leaders and their organizations understand uncertainty and design themselves to flourish in it. He is the author of The Uncertainty Mindset. He is currently a Fellow of the Singapore Government’s Centre for Strategic Futures, a research fellow at the Future of Life Foundation’s programme on AI for human reasoning, at the Ethereum Foundation’s protocols research programme, and at MOD./University of South Australia. He works with the leadership teams of corporations, startups, governments, and NGOs to develop their innovation capacity and ability to manage uncertainty.
