Bas Vogel is a self-employed advisor and photographer operating since 2007. He works in the field of management and maintenance of civil engineering structures, ranging from pedestrian bridges to large storm surge barriers. He started his career in 1988 as a road designer and researcher at various engineering firms. He gained experience as an inspector, supervisor, and maintenance advisor at Applus + / RTD in Rotterdam. Through self-study, he developed expertise in databases (MS Access). He designs databases and is a functional manager of the Ultimo Maintenance Management system. He also continues to take on inspection and advisory projects, including advising on civil engineering works for Mourik's multi-year maintenance project for Rijkswegen West Nederland.
