Callum Birch grew up in the West Midlands, in post-industrial Peaky Blinders territory. As a teenager, his family fostered dogs. He now lives in Devon with his wife, children, and dog. His in-laws are farmers. He is fascinated by complex systems, especially in healthcare, and works on building Epic, an electronic health record, for the NHS. He aims to empower healthcare professionals to deliver great care. He is writing a memoir about his son's life-saving surgery. He enjoys sprinting and lifting weights.
