In 2003, he started writing on his website, exploring the connection between copywriting, web design, and user experience. Since 2008, Stijn has worked professionally in online communication for news media, advertising agencies, and private companies. Today, he lives and works in Antwerp, and in his free time, he enjoys volunteering, photography, and music.

Ernie Smith is the creator of Tedium, an offbeat digital newsletter that has been hunting for the end of the long tail since 2015. Tedium aims to uncover the history of things that usually don’t have histories written about them and give a voice to areas of life that generally aren’t thought about that much. Tedium specializes in strange and unusual descriptions of common things, explained in extreme depth. The newsletter existed before Substack, and its goal is to outlive it.
