Andrew Heiss is an assistant professor in the Department of Public Management and Policy at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University. He received a PhD in public policy and political science from Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy in 2017. His research focuses on how international NGOs work in authoritarian countries. He received the 2016–2018 Emerging Scholar Dissertation Award from the International Society for Third Sector Research (ISTR). He teaches courses on program evaluation and causal inference, statistics and data science, data visualization, economics, and science communication. He is also a certified RStudio instructor and a Posit Academy mentor.
