Derek Moore is an independent ed techie specializing in teaching and learning online. He founded Weblearning in 2003, a small specialist digital and education consultancy. Derek is an advocate for openness, authoring, adapting, adopting, remixing, reusing, and sharing available, accessible, and openly licensed education resources. He aims to offer compassion and care within his personal learning network and pushes back against techno-instrumentalist approaches to technology. Derek is also a member of the South African chapter of Creative Commons and was the South African representative on the Creative Commons Global Network. He considers himself a Wikipedian.
