Open-Source Hardware Websites

Gerrit Niezen is a maker of open-source software and hardware. He graduated from the University of Pretoria with a B.Eng. in Computer Engineering in 2005 and received a M.Eng. in Computer Engineering in 2008. In 2009, he moved to the Netherlands to pursue a Ph.D. in Industrial Design at Eindhoven University of Technology. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Swansea University before working with Tidepool, developing open-source software for diabetes devices. In 2024, he launched LabCrafter, an online store selling open science hardware.
