Michael maintains a microblog archive called Omnica, which mirrors his Mastodon posts in near real time. This serves as a streaming /now page, capturing his thoughts, movie/television/book reviews, music interests, and photos. He also includes content from his deleted Bluesky account and things he finds funny. He uses an AWS Lambda Function to poll his Mastodon feeds for new content, excluding replies and quote posts. He values owning his content and having control over its storage and presentation. The name Omnica is a combination of "omni" and "cascade."
