Mirthe Valentijn is a metalhead, hobby photographer, reader, and film enthusiast. A world traveler and homebody, she resides in a weaver's courtyard in Leiden. Formerly a web developer, she now works as a product owner. She has maintained her website since 1996, and has blogged there since 2001, archiving interesting articles. She also provides information about her family tree, from Cornelis Valentijn, an enslaved ancestor from Sulawesi, to other contributors to the Valentijn and Schoonhoven families.
