He helps technology companies engineer, deploy, and operate highly available and fault-tolerant systems, and improve existing systems to meet predictable performance requirements. Manuel has experience in engineering and operating distributed systems. He is the author of the book Reactive Web Applications. He studied telecommunications at the National Institute of Applied Sciences in Lyon. He lives in Vienna, Austria and enjoys traveling. He is fluent in English, French and German.

He aims to help others by providing practical guides and solutions he's developed for his own work.

Meysam Azad is a Senior Site Reliability Engineer with over eight years of professional experience. Born in Iran, he moved to Turkey and lived there for a year from 2021-2022. As of 2022, he is currently living in Indonesia. He is married and has two dogs named Ruby & Sky. His areas of expertise include Kubernetes, containerization & serverless (AWS Lambda, Cloudflare Workers, etc.), Infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible, and cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and Hetzner. He also has experience with CI / CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Gitlab CI, etc.), monitoring & observability tools (Prometheus, Loki, Grafana, etc.), and GitOps principles and tools (FluxCD, ArgoCD, etc.). Outside of work, he workouts 4-5 times a week, practices piano, enjoys reading non-fictions, loves riding motorcycles, and enjoys deep conversations. He creates technical content, including Youtube videos and blog posts. He is available for consulting and freelance SRE projects.
