Florian Waldmann, born in Heidelberg, Germany in 1984, is the owner of nupita.de. He studied computer science and media at a university in the Black Forest. Prior to that, he became the family IT expert after successfully re-assembling his first computer. He has worked as a bartender, event helper, waiter, and youth animator. After internships in Munich and Freiburg, he moved to Hamburg and worked in the mobile/browser games industry for five years. Nick Benton is an Engineering Manager at Facebook in London, supporting the Hack London team and the Facebook Languages Research (FLaRe) team in Paris. His research ranges from proof theory and categorical logic, through semantics of programming languages and static analyses, to programming language design and compiler implementation. He has a degree in Mathematics and a PhD in Computer Science, both from the University of Cambridge. He is a Fellow Commoner of Queens' College, where he was previously a Bye-Fellow. Before joining Facebook, he spent 18 years at Microsoft Research in Cambridge. Prior to that, he was an SERC Research Fellow, an RA on an EU ESPRIT project and Senior Research Scientist at Persimmon IT, Inc. He has served as Editor-in-Chief of Computer Languages, Systems and Structures (Elsevier) and is currently a member of the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Functional Programming (CUP) and Logical Methods in Computer Science.
