He led a team of designers and front-end developers at Kounta (now Lightspeed), shaping software for hospitality businesses. He also led the design system (React) between design and engineering teams. He creates plugins for Sketch and Figma and writes about design.

Mark Palfreeman is a UI engineer in the Seattle area. He builds modern, maintainable user experiences on the web. Mark works at Microsoft in Redmond, WA on a UI engineering team building a design system for marketing and store experiences. He is also an advocate for people-first company culture, remote work, and constant learning. Outside of work, Mark is a husband, dad, drummer, entrepreneur, and photographer. He co-founded the Seattle Whiskey Collective.

Derek Shirk is a design leader specializing in product design for web and mobile apps, thriving in early-stage environments. Loris Stavrinides is a Creative/Art Director and UI/UX & Design Systems Lead with over 20 years of experience designing visual experiences. They move fluidly between creative & art direction and detailed execution, using systems thinking to ensure consistency and scalability. Loris also incorporates AI into their creative process. Beyond professional work, they are drawn to storytelling and worldbuilding, developing a personal fantasy world and stories through a dark-fantasy novel series.

Patrick Loonstra is a Senior Brand & Product Designer. He helps develop and build strategic and scalable design for products that will make an impact, from idea to launch and growth. With over 20 years of experience, Patrick assists with all visual expressions of a strategy, including brand identity, logo design, presentations, design systems, posters, brochures, lettering, social media templates, print work, websites, app design, UI design, and UX design. He aims to unify brands and products into a cohesive whole.

Currently on the SDK team at Clerk, Alex focuses on UI components and the dashboard, with a particular interest in improving component APIs and developer experience. Alex thrives in small, highly collaborative teams that ship often and values design, especially when working with designers who push for excellence. Chris Burnell is a Canadian Front End Developer / Design Systems Engineer based in Halifax. He is passionate about front end development and the web, which he shares through writing and projects on his website. Chris is also a volunteer Organiser for the State of the Browser conference. He is "Ravenous for CSS" and has created the Webmention Plugin for Eleventy to help people connect across the Fediverse and IndieWeb.

Ryan Trimble is a Frontend Developer, Design System Enthusiast, and Accessibility Advocate based in Central PA. He has a background in Information Technology and previously worked as a Network Technician before transitioning to web development. Ryan has experience as a UX/UI Developer and is currently a Senior Frontend Engineer. He contributes to the web development community through blogging and writing articles for CSS-Tricks.com. Ryan is also involved in charity livestreams, helping to raise money for organizations like Doctors Without Borders and ocean cleanup efforts.

Kat Miller is a product designer based in San Francisco, helping companies ship products people want. With over 10 years of experience, her background includes design agencies where she built consumer products for Fortune 500 companies. She has founded two companies and has been the first designer at startups from Series A to growth stage. Currently, she is leading design for Composer at Matterport, a 3D design tool. She is also building Dear, an iOS app using AI for thoughtful connection. Kat enjoys working with leadership to launch 0-1 products, shape brands, and build design teams. She also founded Foxbox, a nonprofit supporting babies and families through long hospital stays.

Andy Terry is a senior frontend developer from Newcastle, currently working at Northumberland County Council. He focuses on building accessible systems and tools that make public sector websites easier to use and maintain. Andy leads on design systems, accessibility, and frontend patterns across Drupal and static sites. Outside of work, he is a father, solo traveller, grassroots football manager, and goalkeeping coach. He also writes fiction and tinkers with personal projects.

Brad Bice is a design professional, father, and husband. He has worked in web and app design and development since 2003. Currently, he works as Principal Product Designer, Design System at Pluralsight, where he worked on the Pando Design System. He also maintains a personal and professional blog, sharing his work, musings, rants, and praises. He experiments with AI tools to improve his website and automate tasks.

Pablo Zarate is a design leader with over two decades of experience shaping how teams build and deliver digital products. His work focuses on bringing clarity and consistency to complex environments through strong teams, shared standards, and systems that enable quality to scale over time. He has led design at Increase Latam, FOX Networks, and National Geographic. Currently, he is Design Manager at Banco Galicia. Jason Quintin is a product designer who helps companies search for product/market fit and transition design to scale. He has experience in wireframing, prototyping, user flows, user testing, establishing design systems, A/B testing, and leading workshops. He has designed for gaming kiosk systems, jukeboxes, OTT, IOT, responsive and native mobile applications, and healthcare. Currently, he is a Senior Product & User Experience Designer at Quil Health. Based in Vienna, Austria, she works remotely, specializing in complex and technical products, large scalable design systems, and people-focused digital experiences. Ash is a creative native, illustrator, design system consultant, entrepreneur, miniature maker, raconteuse, and artist. She is a business-minded and code-adjacent designer who values usability, inclusivity, accessibility, and equality, designing for people, not users. Ashley is currently on sabbatical and will be available for long-term projects from March 2026.

Evan Samek is a Product Design Leader at CrowdStrike in the DC area. He has held leadership roles in UX at Rapid7, DivvyCloud, HelloWallet, and Fugue Inc. Evan is passionate about leading teams to create empathic experiences and data visualization driven products. He enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams to build impactful products. As of September 2023, he is leading a new Design Systems team and strategy at CrowdStrike.

Alfred Nerstu is a Swedish designer based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is a bootstrapped solopreneur who offers product design, design systems, and embedded design leadership through Fractional.design. Previously, Alfred worked at Bang & Olufsen, ustwo, and Pacemaker. He also co-founded two companies: AN Denmark and Handlag. Alfred is a DJ and dance music enthusiast who shares music on Studion, a platform he is building.

Nikin Nagewadia is a Senior Interaction Designer at the Government Digital Service, based in London. With over 10 years of product design experience, Nikin specializes in building efficient, modular, and accessible systems. Chris Gibbons is an experienced and passionate digital developer based in Lancashire, UK. Kevin Coyle is a technical lead and design system consultant based in the UK. From a young age, he has been interested in technology, science fiction and video games. He tinkered with computers from a young age, eventually learning to program. He studied Physics with Technological Physics at university. In the mid 2000's he ran a web development business. He then worked as a Drupal developer for TalkTalk, eventually becoming their lead developer. He then worked as a contractor in medcomms for around 4 years. After that, he spent a year developing Drutek. He then worked for an agency based in Chichester, and was promoted to tech lead for a new design system at Pfizer. He is currently a consultant at Big Medium. He has shifted his focus recently to A.I and machine learning.
