Cathryn Lavery is an entrepreneur and creator, currently residing in Austin, Texas. She is the CEO of BestSelf Co., which she grew from zero to 8-figures in less than two years. Cathryn graduated from Glasgow School of Art with a Masters in Architecture in 2011 and moved to NYC to start her architecture career. In 2013, she left the architecture industry entirely. She launched the Self Journal on Kickstarter in 2015, raising $322,696 in 34 days. Cathryn won Shopify’s Build a Business Competition in 2016 and the Build a BIGGER Business competition in 2017. In 2022, BestSelf was acquired. Cathryn was selected for Forbes 30 Under 30, and her work has been featured in Fast Company’s 2017 Innovation by Design Awards, Entrepreneur, MTV, Huffington Post, Forbes, and Inc.

DSri Seah is an investigative designer who is returning to freelance design after working in Javascript programming for learning sciences research grants. Their current focus involves articulating personal values as a requirement for work. DSri is interested in expanding this into a creative community engineered to foster genuine friendships, with a prototype community called DS|CAFE. They are also very interested in the Fediverse and Open Social Web initiatives. DSri maintains a digital open studio website as a personal knowledge management system, combining continuity logging with categorized writings, concepts, and tools. The website is the successor to the archived davidseah.com site.

Juha is a front-end developer and pixel tweaker from Oulu, Finland. He has been tinkering with websites and software professionally since 2005, and even longer as a hobby. He is a passionate traveler with an interest in photography. Juha is a fan of sci-fi and horror films, as well as synthwave and Blade Runner-style soundscapes. He is a 40-something blogger who shares notes and thoughts about topics that interest him, often related to web stuff, social media, and travels. He enjoys building things for the web and traveling with his wife.

Michael Warren is a designer, musician, and sculptor. With over 10 years of experience, he creates solutions for brands of all sizes. In 2012, he founded Designed Space, where he writes and conducts interviews about creativity and design. Since 2020, he has been a senior designer at Orion, guiding its rebrand in the FinTech market. In addition to design, Michael is a musician and sculptor focusing on crafting forms from wood. He lives in Pennsylvania with his wife, Julia, and their dogs.

Joe Wintergreen is an Australian video game developer. He has worked on many games, often credited as a "systems designer" or "technical designer." Currently, he is a "senior technical designer" at RiffRaff Games. He makes tools, tutorials, and resources. He is an expert in the use of the Unreal Engine. He has an internet blog.

Dave Smyth is a designer working at the intersection of user experience, privacy, accessibility and sustainability. He has been working independently since 2013. He uses his personal site to let people book Unoffice Hours calls, write about various topics, and collect interesting bookmarks. He also sends out a newsletter with five interesting links every Thursday.

Pouya Saadeghi is a product designer and developer and the creator of daisyUI, a CSS component library used in more than 500000 open-source projects worldwide. Over the past 16 years, Pouya has worked and collaborated with teams and clients to create software. He has explored different aspects of the software industry and has been involved in many projects and startups as a designer, developer, consultant, or co-founder.

Nick Winans works at Roblox, where he develops their Design System, improves libraries like React, and supports accessibility. He also runs a niche wireless DIY keyboard company called Nice Keyboards, designing low-power wireless parts at Typeractive.xyz and polishing the DIY customer experience. Josh Worth has been working in the world of interactive media since the early 90s. He has worked as an interactive art director, interface designer, user experience designer, creative consultant, web strategist, graphic artist, illustrator, and animator on projects for clients like Sony Pictures, Marvel Comics, the American Museum of Natural History, and the Max Planck Institute. He designs websites, prototypes, mobile apps, and branding packages. Besides computer-related things, he is also a writer, playwright, and curator. In 1997, he started a non-profit arts organization called Trade City Productions. Lately he’s been leading up a project called Comingle. He currently resides in Los Angeles.

Bruno Bernardino is an Automation Engineer and Consultant. He has been helping businesses grow since 2003. In late 2023 he created bewCloud, a simpler alternative to Nextcloud and ownCloud. Since 2019, he has been helping Sunsama grow more than 20x, past profitability, while building a remote engineering culture, as their Founding Engineer. Prior to that, he was Zapier's first Developer Platform Engineer and built their new CLI Developer Platform, growing from 50 to over 1000 apps, and the company from 30 to over 300 people. Before Zapier, at Lumenalta, he managed and grew the all-remote engineering team from 30 to 100+, and revenue 10x, as their CTO and COO. He also founded a web hosting business and a software agency, both of which he sold. He has also worked as a systems administrator and software engineer.

Tobias Kronthaler is a fullstack developer with web, dev, and ops skills. Daniel Hooper is a software engineer and designer whose work focuses on tools for creatives, and video games for the curious. In 2012, Daniel designed gestural text selection, which was covered by The Verge, Engadget, iMore, Fast Company, MacRumors, and Daring Fireball and is now integrated into Android and iOS. He worked at Apple on the iOS and macOS Photography Apps. After leaving Apple, he created Principle, a UI prototyping tool used by design teams at Apple, Google, Microsoft, IDEO, Figma, and more. Apple featured Principle in its 2019 WWDC Keynote. Daniel writes and speaks on topics related to software and design and has given talks for Google, Booking.com, Apple’s design teams, Yandex, and several local tech communities. He lives in Oregon with his wife and dog.

They also experienced Mal de débarquement syndrome (MdDS) for about five months, triggered by a long flight home from a European river cruise. They previously had MdDS ten years prior after a flight home from Brazil. They researched the condition extensively and tried various treatments to alleviate symptoms. They found temporary relief from driving in a car and swinging in a hammock chair.

Gaz enjoys solving complex problems as part of a team and uses evidence to drive certainty into assumptions. She enjoys solving problems creatively and has a keen attention to detail. Silvia has first-hand experience with assistive technology and is an advocate for individuals with disabilities.

Andrew Chapman is a writer, editor, and book designer based in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, UK. He helps people publish non-fiction books. Andrew is the editor of Northern Earth, Discover Your Ancestors magazine, and the British Association for Local History’s Local History News journal. He co-writes Histories, a weekly newsletter, and publishes history books at Heritage Hunter. Andrew also walks a lot and is interested in history, landscape, and psychogeography. He has creative collaborations with Paul Lenz, including Histories, Who Should You Vote For?, and How Many Hippos?. He co-created and ran a book recommendation website from 2005 until it was sold in 2019.
