Ryan Marcus is an assistant professor of computer science at the University of Pennsylvania. He uses machine learning to build the next generation of data management tools that automatically adapt to new hardware and user workloads, invent novel processing strategies, and understand user intention. He is especially interested in query optimization, index structures, intelligent clouds, programming language runtimes, program synthesis for data processing, and applications of reinforcement learning to systems problems. From 2013 to 2021, Simon worked at Shopify in Ottawa, Canada, as Principal Engineer/Director, scaling the infrastructure. He competed for Denmark at the International Olympiad in Informatics in high school. From 2010 to 2013, he worked with Rails at startup Relatel. He grew up in Aarhus, Denmark.

Eric Migicovsky is an inventor who enjoys creating new products. He is known for creating Pebble, the first smartwatch, and Beeper, a universal chat app. Eric also spent four years as a partner at Y Combinator. He advises early-stage startups, especially those focused on hardware. He believes the most rewarding feeling is seeing someone using a product he helped create.

Doug Brown is a classic Mac and Linux enthusiast who also uses Windows. He enjoys tinkering with Linux kernel development in his spare time. Daniel Hooper is a software engineer and designer whose work focuses on tools for creatives, and video games for the curious. In 2012, Daniel designed gestural text selection, which was covered by The Verge, Engadget, iMore, Fast Company, MacRumors, and Daring Fireball and is now integrated into Android and iOS. He worked at Apple on the iOS and macOS Photography Apps. After leaving Apple, he created Principle, a UI prototyping tool used by design teams at Apple, Google, Microsoft, IDEO, Figma, and more. Apple featured Principle in its 2019 WWDC Keynote. Daniel writes and speaks on topics related to software and design and has given talks for Google, Booking.com, Apple’s design teams, Yandex, and several local tech communities. He lives in Oregon with his wife and dog.

Ashwani Rathee is a Master of Science in Computer Science student at UC Santa Cruz, advised by Prof. Alex Pang and Prof. James Davis in UCSC VIS Lab. His research currently focuses on understanding the 3D world with embodied agents to aid people. Before joining UCSC, he was a Software Engineer at FleetSafe working on radar focused surveillance systems. He received his B.E. in Information Technology from Panjab University, where he was advised by Prof. Mamta Juneja in the MDaRT DIC Lab. He contributed to open-source via GSOC'22, OSPP'21, GSSOC'21, and PSOC'20 working on spanning image processing, sentiment analysis, and machine learning.

Pippin Barr makes games. They are an Associate Professor in the Department of Design and Computation Arts at Concordia University in Montréal and the department chair. Pippin is a member of the Technoculture, Art, and Games (TAG) Research Centre, part of the Milieux Institute for Arts, Culture, and Technology. They teach or have taught creative programming, game design and development, game analysis and criticism, and internet/web-based art. Previously, Pippin taught at the Institute of Digital Games at the University of Malta (2012-2015), the Center for Computer Games Research at the IT University of Copenhagen in Denmark (2009-2012), and the HotSoft Lab at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada (2008-2009). Pippin has a doctorate and a master’s degree from Victoria University of Wellington/Te Herenga Waka in New Zealand. Their Ph.D. was about video game values and their M.Sc. was about user-interface metaphors.

Raoul Pop is a creator who has been running his website since August 7, 2000. His website contains his thoughts, reviews, photos, and videos on a variety of topics, including events, exercise, how-to guides, places, and technology. He also produces web shows and videos related to living a good life and a talk show called "De Vorba cu Ligia." His website has accumulated over 2 million views since January 2010, when he moved it to WordPress. He is also active on social media platforms such as YouTube, Flickr, and Instagram.

Ersei is an HPC Solutions Engineer at KLA. They are a self-taught software engineer with a diverse skillset, ranging from reverse-engineering to self-hosting and programming language theory. Their focus has increasingly been on low-level systems, formal languages, and computer security skills. Ersei graduated from Purdue University's Computer Science program in the Winter of 2025. Outside of work, they contribute to open-source projects, give talks on technology, write blog posts, and manage their own servers and self-hosted software. They also enjoy the outdoors.

Suraj Chaudhary is a writer, developer, and founder who shares lessons and resources for living a fuller life. He publishes articles weekly, offering actionable tips for optimizing life and work. His work focuses on productivity, personal life, and business/careers. Suraj started his blog in 2021 as a collection of inspirations, ideas, realizations, and lessons he has accumulated. He was born in Nepal and moved to NYC for higher education. He is currently a Mathematics and Computer Science major (Honors) at St. Joseph’s University, Brooklyn, New York. He also runs a YouTube channel and sometimes hosts a podcast.

David Winter is a Software Engineer based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent in the United Kingdom. He has a passion for coding and writing about it. He has co-authored four books, including "Modernising Legacy Applications in the Public Sector," "User-centered Practices for Sustainable Technology," "Building High Performance Agile Teams," and "A Field Guide To Continuous Delivery." David is currently developing a keyboard driven note application called nimblenote, built with Electron and available for macOS, Linux and Windows.
