Paolo Gabriel is an engineer and scientist specializing in AI, machine learning, and brain-machine interfaces. He holds a PhD in Electrical & Computer Engineering from UC San Diego, where he worked in the Translational Neuroengineering Lab. He also holds a BS in Engineering Physics from Stanford University. Currently, Paolo is a Senior Computer Vision Engineer on the AI team at LookDeep Health, where he designs computer vision pipelines, analyzes patient activity, and curates multi-modal datasets. He is interested in connecting people with their data.

Eric Jon Kassel is a graphic designer, director, and motion graphics artist based in Minneapolis. He is the co-founder of the design studio Lake & Pine. Occasionally, he plays music in bands.

Eric works in sales, marketing, and business development within the EdTech industry. He works remotely and travels often, but is based in Vancouver. His hobbies include languages, sports, exercise, cocktails, and music.

Arun Sasidharan builds and advises startups on creating meaningful products. He is currently the Head of Engineering at ShareTheMeal, an app fighting global hunger. Previously, he was a founding engineer at 1mg and advises non-profits like human-internet.org and sankalptaru.org.

Luis Miguel Báez is a Back-End Software Engineer at Instaleap, a position he has held since October 2022. Prior to this, he worked at IBM as a Back-End Engineer and Software Engineer Intern. He has launched several projects, including Quick Test CLI, Taskon AI, and Prompt Composer. He has received awards and recognition, including participation in the 2021 ICPC South America-North Finals and a 2nd place finish in the 2021 ICPC Colombia - XXXV Maraton Nacional de Programacion ACIS REDIS. He also participated in the Ironhacks Competition 2018.

Erik Chou designs tools for humans, often on the browser. He enjoys creating playgrounds, which he defines as realms designed for serendipity. He considers himself a tinkerer, building things without the burden of feeling useful, allowing him the freedom to wander, explore assumptions, test ideas, and learn about himself. He is obsessive about his craft and believes small things matter.

Daniel De Laney focuses on design and product management for technical products. He turns uncertainty into products, starting with a target customer and problem statement. He develops the product strategy and creates rapid design concepts and prototypes until the MVP is well-defined. He provides production-ready front end code to the development team, and works with them to get it wired up and shipped. He created a suite of macOS utilities including Intention, Magicbrake, and Copyplaced. He also writes thoughts on technology.

Steve Byrnes is a Boston-area physicist working on Artificial General Intelligence safety research, also known as AI Alignment. His work involves thinking about neuroscience and algorithms. He is currently working at Astera. From 2015 to 2021, he worked as a professional physicist at Draper, a nonprofit R&D laboratory in the Boston area, where he worked on algorithms, system design, simulations, and trade studies across many domains. From 2012 to 2015, he was a physics postdoc in Federico Capasso’s applied physics laboratory at Harvard University, doing theoretical and experimental research in thermodynamics and optics. He earned a Physics PhD at the University of California, Berkeley from 2007 to 2012. He graduated summa cum laude from Harvard University in 2007 with a B.A. in Physics and Math. He was a winner of both the USA Math Olympiad and the USA Physics Olympiad, and he won first place nationally in the Siemens Westinghouse Competition with a math project.

Roberto Aley is a Colombian citizen living in Costa Rica. He is a programmer with almost 20 years of experience. He enjoys working in low level programming and reverse engineering x86 systems.
