Sonic2k's interest in Sonic The Hedgehog began on November 28, 1999, after the release of the SEGA Dreamcast. Sonic2k chose the handle "Sonic2k" in early 2000 and has used it ever since. Besides Sonic, Sonic2k is interested in art, specifically manga, and enjoys anime like K-ON. Sonic2k combines passions for art, technology, and code in personal projects. He is currently the Chief Data Scientist at Scale Venture Partners, building AI infrastructure to augment investment decision-making. Will's background is in Mechanical Engineering, with a B.S. and M.S. from Auburn University. His research focused on multi-body dynamics and system wear. Previously, he was a co-founder of Predikto, which was later acquired by United Technologies (UTC). He then led Applied Data for Raytheon Technologies/UTC. Before joining Scale Venture Partners, Will led Data Science at Aumni, which was acquired by JPMorgan Chase & Co.

From 2011-2019, he was a professor in Public Health at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and founding director of UVA’s Bioinformatics Core.
